Collection: Emergency Cooking & Home Preparedness

Cooking without electricity starts with a practical plan. Choose a gas stove and compatible accessories for familiar meals during a power cut. Equipment you can practise with on ordinary cooking days, too.

Start with your cooking location, then match the burner, cookware and gas supply. This collection covers cooking equipment, rather than a complete household emergency kit.

Choose a gas stove · Match your cookware · Find a regulator

01 · PLAN YOUR LOCATION

First, choose where you can cook

Original, Basic, PRO and Double are for outdoor use only. Use a suitable open-air location and follow the manual. Never use an outdoor burner indoors, in a tent or in a fully or partially enclosed space. Never use a cooking burner as a room heater.

Considering Silver Line for indoor cooking? Check the exact appliance version, manual, ventilation, clearances and local gas requirements first. Its flame failure device does not replace these conditions.

If you have no suitable cooking location, plan meals that need no heating. Read the user manuals.

02 · CHOOSE YOUR BURNER

Gas stoves for backup cooking

Silver Line 4.5 kW: Compact, with battery-powered ignition. Check indoor-use conditions before choosing.

Basic 10 kW: Outdoor cooking with a flat burner ring included. Hose, regulator, cookware and round-bottom wok ring are sold separately.

Original 7 kW and PRO 12 kW: Outdoor models supplied with a 30 cm carbon steel wok, hose and regulator.

Double 2 × 10 kW: Two independently adjustable outdoor burners; cookware is sold separately.

Choose for your meals, cooking space and cookware. Higher power alone does not make a better preparedness setup. Compare HOT WOK gas stoves.

03 · MATCH YOUR COOKWARE

Match your pots, pans and supports

Use the flat burner ring made for your model: Silver Line, Original or PRO. These rings are sold separately. Basic already includes a flat burner ring; Double has reversible supports.

Check the manual for suitable cookware sizes, bases and support positions. The paella pan below is 30 cm. Never assume that a support or pan fits every burner.

04 · CHECK YOUR GAS SUPPLY

Choose the right gas regulator

These regulators are different options, not interchangeable alternatives. Match outlet pressure, gas type, cylinder connection and flow capacity to your exact appliance version and local requirements. A country label alone does not confirm compatibility.

Basic 10 kW is listed for 30 mbar operation and comes without a hose or regulator. Do not fit a 37 or 50 mbar regulator to a 30 mbar appliance unless the manufacturer explicitly specifies that configuration for the exact version.

For camping cartridges, confirm connection and flow capacity. For French connections, check whether the separate French regulator adapter is needed. Ask HOT WOK to confirm your combination if unsure.

A practical home preparedness checklist

  • Plan familiar meals: Keep drinking water and shelf-stable food, including meals that need no heating.
  • Confirm the complete setup: Check the appliance, compatible support, cookware, hose, regulator and cylinder. Gas cylinders are not included.
  • Practise first: Read the manual and try your setup before you need it during a power cut.
  • Plan fuel sensibly: Use the appliance's consumption information and your expected cooking time. Storage rules and recommendations vary by country.

A gas stove can be one part of home preparedness alongside water, food, lighting and other essentials. Follow current official guidance where you live. For example, Denmark's preparedness guidance recommends that households can manage for three days.
