The difference between a 7 kW and a 12 kW Gas Stove - Wok Burner - HOT WOK
before you start

The difference between a 7 kW Original and a 12 kW Pro - Wok Burner

The difference between a HOT WOK Original 7 kW and a HOT WOK PROFESSIONAL 12 kW Wok Burners Are you unsure whether to choose the HOT WOK Original 7 kW or the HOT WOK Professional 12 kW? You are not alone. In fact, it is one of the most frequently asked questions from our customers. The short answer is simple: it all comes down to heat and speed. If you want authentic Asian wok cooking with crispy vegetables, juicy meat, and the distinctive "Wok Hei" flavor, you need high heat. Below, we will help you find the model that best suits your cooking needs. Quick comparison - See this link Why does kW matter? When it comes to wok cooking, heat is everything. A standard indoor induction or gas stove typically delivers around 2.2–2.4 kW. This is why vegetables and meat often end up steaming rather than frying when cooked at home. With a HOT WOK gas stove, you get: Authentic Wok Hei: The signature flavor and aroma created by extreme heat. Crispier Ingredients: Moisture evaporates instantly, helping vegetables and meat retain their texture and flavor. Faster Cooking: Many dishes can be prepared in just a few minutes.   When should you choose the HOT WOK Original 7 kW? The HOT WOK Original 7 kW is the ideal choice if: You typically cook for 2–4 people. You mainly prepare traditional wok dishes. You want a powerful gas stove at an attractive entry-level price.   When should you choose the HOT WOK Professional 12 kW? The HOT WOK Professional 12 kW is the right choice if: You often cook for more than 4 people. You want maximum flexibility with the large 35 cm wok pan. You cook outdoors in windy conditions. You want to use the stove for large pots, soups, boiling water, or home brewing. Which model do most customers choose? The price difference between the 7 kW and 12 kW models is relatively small. Because of this, the vast majority of our customers choose the HOT WOK Professional 12 kW. The additional power provides greater flexibility and ensures that you always have the heat you need, no matter what you are cooking. View the HOT WOK Professional 12 kW Set View the HOT WOK Original 7 kW Set   Frequently Asked Questions Can I use the HOT WOK 7 kW and 12 kW models indoors? No. Both models are designed exclusively for outdoor use. If you are looking for an indoor solution, we recommend the HOT WOK Silver Line 4.5 kW, which is approved for indoor kitchen use.   Does the 12 kW model consume significantly more gas? At maximum output, the 12 kW model uses more gas than the 7 kW version. However, because it cooks food much faster, the overall difference in gas consumption during normal use is often surprisingly small. Which gas regulator do I need? All HOT WOK sets include a regulator and gas hose that match the gas standards of the country where the product is sold, making installation quick and hassle-free. No matter what, you get a unique heating effect with both the 7 kW and 12 kW Gas stove and Wok Burners. They are two of the most powerful Gas Stoves on the market. You must get a gas stove with a high heating effect when you want to grill and not boil food. With a 12 kW  Gas Stove, you get lots of power – and you can always turn it down. The 5 kW extra, you get with a 12 kW Gas Stove rather than a 7 kW Gas Stove, is useful if you want to use it for something else than wok/the big wok pan. For instance, if you want a big pot of water or soup to boil quickly. We use a HOT WOK 12 kW PROFESSIONAL gas stove when we cook for more than 4 people at a time (for 2-4 people vi use the Silver Line model with 4,5 kW and the small wok pan). That is also useful as a Gas Stove indoors.  A HOT WOK gas stove with 12 kW and the big 35 cm wok pan just go well together. The gas stove does not care if it’s a bit windy and can keep the heat on the wok pan etc. The 7 kW gas stove needs to work a bit of overtime – but can in principle do the work. To compare all this with kW, effect, etc. we can explain how your normal stove performs – induction/ceramic: 2,2 ~ 2,4 kW. The secret to make great wok recipes is the heat and the frying. The water should be sautéed away and will give the ingredients a very different taste than by boiling them. The price is not that different. Therefore, we recommend you choose the 12 kW gas stove even though the 7 kW could be enough. Our sale statistics show that most people choose the 12 kW gas stove – but then again, we also sell a lot of the 7 kW gas stoves and Wok Burner. See all Wokburners

HOW TO: Maintenance of your HOT WOK Gas Stove – Cast iron - HOT WOK

HOW TO: Maintenance of your HOT WOK Gas Stove – Cast iron

A HOT WOK gas stove is made of cast iron. With the weather in Europe, you must keep in mind that cast iron can rust. Even though the gas stove might get some rust it still works impeccably. However, we do have a few tricks if you want the gas stove to look perfect. Has your HOT WOK gas stove gotten rust or grease stains? Then we have a very simple trick: use some cooking oil. It can be sunflower oil or peanut oil – whatever you normally use for cooking. Take a couple of pieces of paper towel and put the oil on it. Wipe the gas stove on all surfaces with the paper. You would quickly be able to see how far along you are and where you still need to wipe. After 5-10 minutes you can wipe the oil off with some clean paper towels and the gas stove should be clean and shiny again – without being greasy and transferable. If it isn’t you can wipe it with clean paper towels again. Even though you treat your gas stove with some kind of surface treatment, we still recommend that you take the gas stove inside a dry room, shed, or likewise, where the stove won’t be exposed to the changing weather and temperatures.

FAQ

HOW TO: Maintenance of TOP LINE Table

Has your worktop become dull and dull looking on the surface? Maybe your table is full of grease stains and hard to get clean? Here's a little trick to make it look "like new" again. Wipe the surface well with a cloth wrung out in warm water and dish soap. Once the countertop is dry, spray vinyl cleaner all over the surface. Wipe afterward with a kitchen roll. If it doesn't cover enough the first time or you still experience a few dull areas, spray again and wipe again. Now you're done and have a nice shiny TOP LINE Table again. In this example, we use a normal vinyl cleaner for matt surfaces when cleaning a car.

HOT WOK gas burner flame adjustment and troubleshooting
FAQ

HOT WOK Burner Flame Problems – How to Adjust Air & Gas

Is your HOT WOK burner showing a yellow, weak or uneven flame? In many cases, the solution is to adjust the three air screws so the burner gets the correct mixture of gas and air. This guide applies to the adjustable cast-iron burners used on the HOT WOK Original 7 kW, Basic 10 kW, Double 2×10 kW and PRO 12 kW. The HOT WOK Silver Line 4.5 kW is a different burner design and should not be adjusted using this procedure. What should a correct HOT WOK flame look like? When your HOT WOK gas burner is adjusted correctly, the flame should be stable and mainly blue, with a small yellow tip. The flame pattern should be even around the burner. If the flame is very yellow, weak, irregular or accompanied by a roaring sound, check the air adjustment and gas supply before cooking. What are the 3 air screws under the HOT WOK burner for? The three screws control the amount of air mixed with the gas before combustion. The correct air-to-gas mixture is important for a strong, stable flame. These three air screws are used on the HOT WOK Original 7 kW, Basic 10 kW, Double 2×10 kW and HOT WOK PRO 12 kW. How to adjust the 3 air screws Start with all three screws open. Make sure each screw is only just engaged in the thread so the air openings are not unnecessarily restricted. Open the gas valve and light the burner. Follow the normal lighting procedure for your HOT WOK. Adjust one screw at a time. Gradually tighten the screw to reduce the air opening while watching the flame. Aim for a stable blue flame. The ideal flame is mainly blue with a small yellow tip. Repeat for all three sections. Each section may require slightly different adjustment to create an even flame pattern. Important: If tightening a screw causes the flame to become very small or you hear a roaring sound from underneath the burner, turn off the gas immediately. Open the air screw again before relighting and readjusting. Video: How to adjust your HOT WOK burner Why is my HOT WOK flame yellow? A yellow flame can indicate that the air-to-gas mixture needs adjustment. Check all three air screws and adjust them gradually until the burner produces a stable flame that is mainly blue with only a small yellow tip. A small amount of yellow at the very top of the flame can be normal. The goal is not necessarily a completely blue flame, but a strong and even flame pattern. Why is the flame weak or too small? If the flame remains weak after adjusting the air screws, check the gas supply as well. Make sure the gas cylinder is not empty, the regulator is correctly connected and the gas hose is not bent, pinched or damaged. If the burner has previously worked correctly but has suddenly become weak, dirt or debris may also be restricting the gas flow. The gas tubes can be carefully blown through to remove loose debris, and the burner openings should be kept clean. Why does my HOT WOK make a roaring sound? If the air screws are tightened too far, the flame can become too small and combustion can move underneath the burner. This may create a roaring sound. Turn off the gas immediately. Open the air screws again before relighting the burner and make a new adjustment. Why does each HOT WOK need individual adjustment? Small differences in gas cylinders, regulators, valves and the individual burner can affect the final air-to-gas mixture. This is why the three air screws may need to be adjusted specifically for your setup. Gas pressure and regulators Always use the regulator specification intended for your HOT WOK and your market. A regulator with a different pressure should not be used simply to try to increase the burner output. HOT WOK burners are designed and approved for their specified gas pressure and injector setup. Common HOT WOK market specifications include 29/30 mbar in Denmark, Norway, Finland and Spain; 50 mbar in Germany and Austria; 30 mbar in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Italy, Greece, the Czech Republic and Hungary; and 37 mbar in the United Kingdom. Find the correct replacement or market-specific equipment in our Gas Regulators collection. HOT WOK burner troubleshooting checklist Gas cylinder: Is there enough gas in the cylinder? Regulator: Is the correct regulator fitted and connected properly? Gas hose: Is it bent, pinched, cracked or otherwise damaged? Air screws: Are all three adjusted to give a stable, mainly blue flame? Burner openings: Are they clean and free from dirt or debris? Gas tubes: If the flame has become unusually weak, check for loose debris or blockage. Do not use a damaged gas hose, regulator or burner. If you smell gas, cannot achieve a stable flame or are unsure about the setup, turn off the gas supply and stop using the burner until the issue has been resolved. HOT WOK flame problems – FAQ Should a HOT WOK flame be completely blue? The flame should be mainly blue and stable. A small yellow tip can be normal when the burner is adjusted correctly. How do I make the flame stronger? First check the three air screws and make sure the burner has the correct air-to-gas mixture. Also check the gas cylinder, regulator, hose and burner openings. Do not change to a higher-pressure regulator simply to increase power. Why is only one part of the burner burning incorrectly? The three burner sections are adjusted individually. If one section has a different flame pattern, adjust the corresponding air screw gradually while watching the flame. Can I clean a HOT WOK burner? Yes. Keep the burner openings free from dirt and debris. If gas flow has become weak, the gas tubes can also be carefully blown through to remove loose debris. Always disconnect the gas supply before cleaning or inspecting the burner. Does this guide apply to HOT WOK Silver Line 4.5 kW? No. Silver Line 4.5 kW uses a different burner design with piezo ignition and flame safety. The three-air-screw adjustment described here is for Original 7 kW, Basic 10 kW, Double 2×10 kW and PRO 12 kW. Still having problems with your HOT WOK? If the burner still does not produce a stable flame after these checks, please contact HOT WOK support. Tell us which HOT WOK model you have, which country you are using it in and what the flame looks like. A photo or short video can also help us identify the problem faster.

Once you have unpacked your HOT WOK. - Pour the equivalent of 3 tablespoons of sunflower oil into the wok pan - Start your wok burner on full heat. Be careful with 12 kW burners though as they are very powerful. DO NOT leave the wok when the oil is heating up - Leave the wok over the flames until you can see the wok pan turning light brown at the bottom. - Start to turn the wok pan over the flames. Right up to the edges. Quietly until the brown color comes where the hot oil is. - Once you have gone around the wok pan with the oil and the wok pan is light brown in most places, take the wok pan off the gas flame and pour out the oil. - Wipe the wok pan with kitchen roll - Start over and do this 3 times. - You are now ready to make super delicious wok food Remember NEVER to clean your wok pan in soapy/sulphur water. Always clean the wok pan only in plain water and wipe with a cloth. The wok pan will turn completely black over time.
